Checking the Bookstore for Required Textbooks

Purpose

Many students email me inquiring about the required textbook. These instructions will help students use the bookstore’s online tools to find their required textbooks on their own. You need to follow these instructions on the bookstore website to obtain your own results; your results will differ from those pictured in these instructions.

The bookstore already has the textbook stocked and ready for purchase, weeks ahead of class. While some textbooks may be cheaper through other venues, you can always count on the bookstore to have used and new copies priced and ready for purchase.

Need to Know:

  • ·     These instructions apply to all SCSU classes.
  • ·      I use my own course in the pictured examples: English 304 Technical Writing Spring 2018.
  • ·     The results shown in the example may not be your required textbook.

Steps:
1.     Open your web browser.
2.     Click on this link to visit the bookstore. The link will take you to the bookstore’s official page.

18.  Find the Find Materials for 1 Course linked image at the bottom of the page.
19.  Depending on the number of courses for which you are ordering, you may see a different number than “1.”

WARNING: Do not order the pictured textbook unless it is shown in your own search results.
WARNING: This textbook example does not show the result you will receive for your search.
